I am sorry I couldn't make the FF christmas night. Hope to make one someday. Things really stressful again. Philip's condition worsening and I am off work with high Blood Pressure and effects of my crohns - hope to go back after this week. I ahve had a new manager at work since June (I changed section) - I work in projects for the civil service and my previous projects have been very supportive because they know my health situation and that of my hubbie. I changed project recently (still in the civil service because you can do that) and my new manager is definately not supportive and being quite off about flexibility. I don't think he is supposed to be like that according to our "flexible" working policies. I have always been flexible because you ahve to be when you work in projects as the work is so erratic but I am not going to be flexible if it doesn't work both ways.

I hope you can make one too Elizabeth, it would be good to meet you. You missed a good night at the party.

I suffer from high blood pressure as well, so I can sympathise there. I hope your hubby gets sorted, and that work gets sorted. There's nothing worse than an unsympathetic boss. Have you spoken to your HR about this? I think I'd have a word with them, can you change projects again?

Fingers crossed that you feel better soon and that hubby picks up soon.

Big hug coming your way.

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit low Elizabeth. Things are tough enough for you without an awkward so and so at work.

Please don't rush back to work if you're not 100%, I know you probably hate being at home but you need to look after yourself. Don't let your boss bully you when you do go back to work... Does he know about your personal circumstances? It may be worth you having a 1 to 1 with him, just to re-emphasise things. It will give you the opportunity to relay how flexible you have been in the past in return for a bit of flexibility back. That you plan to continue that way - I'm sure he'll see the full picture then.

If not let him know you're going to HR for a "chat", that will definitely work. Don't be afraid to go to your HR dept, they are there to support employees.

Love to you and Philip xx

Thanks for all the support - just what I need. Am going to speak to the union when I go back - there has been quite a few issues recently that I think he could be taken to task on and yes I am looking for a new project - I think there is a few coming up soon.
