The creditors meeting was supposed to have been last Thurs with Debt Free Direct. It was adjourned because Egg have 25% of the debt and are asking qustions like, why were we both not in the application (we were advised only to have my partner as his debt was the main issue);questioning my mileage to work/fuel allowance;questioning allowance for personal hygeine at £40, saying it should be £10 a month for haircuts/dental etc. I am told that Egg have now asked for the full 14 days adjournment to look at things in more detail.
Meanwhile it has left us in limbo, my partner is naturally very concerned about the outcome and if he is not granted an IVA what will happen then - bankruptcy is not an option. Are Egg known to be like this? When we spoke to Andy he did indicate that our proposal to pay 68% of the debt seemed a good one.

Hi Deana
Unfortunatrly it is quite common for EGG to ask what seem a thousand and one questions - hang in there and make sure you are available to answer any queries that your IP may have.
The fact that Egg are askin ghtes questions and you have a 14 day adjournement does not mean you won't have a successful IVA, try not to panic jsut keep in touch with the person holding dealin gwith your file/meeting

Good Luck Melanie

Egg is now part of the US Citigroup of banks and yes they are in choppy waters...but not that there is any link to your case but they are been hyper Prudent as they did when they wrote to 100,000 plus people in the UK to say 'CC account closed'

You have to do your sums to match their sums. For example, £10 a hair cut can be had but not at a Salon. So £40 for haircut a year for a guy is not unreasonable. For ladies obviously a £60,cut and style would not be allowed. Petrol cost is going down and will be go down further. Egg are been pedantic but then they have 25% of your debt and can do so. They {Egg} aren't rolling in money like they use to. They were more lienent before Prudential press the eject button on them.
