Hi I have just received a letter from a bailiff saying they want payment for an unpaid court fine from 2 years ago. Anyway the bailiff company spoke to me about a year ago and I then advised them I am paying into an IVA they said they would get back to me but never did.

My question basically is can I make them accept payments that are affordable for me as I dont really have much disposable income after everthing comes out my account every month.

I dont really think its my responsibilty as its their problem not mine as I made many attempts to solve the problem.

Many Thanks

I am afraid Court fines cannot be included in an IVA, so you will need to find a way of repaying this debt - which is your responsibility I am afraid.

Sorry I didnt explain properly. What I meant was as I have an iva, will they take that into consideration and allow me to pay the fine in small installments due to my financial situation?

I am sure if you speak to them, explain your position and ask to pay it off in intalments they will listen to you. After all, they will be getting their money.

You won't know until you call them though.
