Hi All
I got the reply below when I asked the question about BR and being a governor, not sure what it means can someone advise.I ask this on here as i am having probs logging onot the BR site.
Paragraph 6 of Schedule 6 of the constitution regulations is clear about this:
"6. A person is disqualified from holding or continuing to hold office as a governor of a school
if—
(a) his estate has been sequestrated and the sequestration has not been discharged, annulled
or reduced; or
(b) he is the subject of a bankruptcy restrictions order or an interim order."
Being bankrupt does not disqualify a person from being a governor, but being subject to a bankruptcy restrictions order (or equilvalent interim order) does. The GB has absolutely no discretion in this area.
Thanks
John
