Hi shazzles, sorry that you are one of the Woolies people.
You need to speak to your IP and tell them what is happening. They might allow you to have a payment break for a few months whilst you seek other work.
If you have not missed any other payments then you will just go into arrears. If you have missed three, then your IVA will go into default.
It's better to be upfront with them though, they will be able to help you.

Hi
Good advice from Kallis, speak with your IP as soon as possible, I am sure that they will give you a payment break whilst you sort out your next move

Def speak to your IP. Lots of people are sadly in your position at the moment so they will understand.
I really hope you find another job soon. It's such a gloomy time at the moment.

Defo speak to your IP, he may be able to extend the IVA by six months and give you six months break as it is for legitimate reasons.
Dont cancel the DDI as that would make the IP suspicious and he may think you want to cancel the IVA.
Best to be upfront with him/her and be guided by them.
Best of luck

What rotten luck at this time of year for you. I really hope that you manage to find new employment soon.
Given that your redundancy settlement is likely to be paid out of the National Insurance Fund, it may take several weeks to receive your money in which case a payment break will be vital until you get your benefits or new income sorted out. Your IP is bound to be sympathetic given the circumstances, and a three month break would not be unusual.

really gutted to hear that, my company have made redudatcies and i even may face it next year, i hope things get better.
I know you are going through a stressfull time, but i understand that some other store have put offers in for the woolies stores, is their any way you can find out if yours will be bought and if so apply for the job, cause if a company is buying a new store they will need staff for them

Kallis3 is spot on - don't cancel any DD until you have agreement with your IP - a payment break is the obvious solution - lets hope that James.C is right and your store will be one that is taken over. Good luck.

Thankyou so much for all your kind replies. I will be out of work as my store closes on 2nd Jan but we will be working a week after this date to help clear up the store etc and will be paid for that.
Apparently will take a while for me to get redunancy money due to tha fact that we have to apply for it...
I will call DFD on Monday please keep your fingers crossed for me for payment break as I cant see forward at the moment and i relly cant afford payments at the moment..
