Hope everyone has had a good christmas and wishing you all a good new year!

Just a quick question...as part of my IVA I am not allowed personal health care, however I have just found out that my work pay's for me to be in Bupa. Although I do not pay for this it costs the company £27.00 a month to pay for this for which I pay tax on....which means I pay a tax contribution of approx £5.50. Will I get into trouble for this? I didn't even know I had it.

Not at all Suze - I am glad that you have a responsible employer who is interested in your health. It is probably a good idea to let your IP know about this, so drop them a line, but this will have absolutely no affect on your IVA.

Thank you for your fast response Melanie...I shall bring this up with my IP as I am due for my 1st year review.

Thanks

It's definitely worth having, so I'm glad it won't make any difference to your IVA Suze. I had the option to take out BUPA cover at work, but never got around to filling in the forms until recently, by which time a few more things had been excluded!

Hi Suze, You are only paying the tax on a benefit in kind and it will have no effect on your IVA. Very useful to have. All my employees have the option to join our health scheme and we contribute £200 per year towards their individual costs. So an employee can bring in their partner and kids if they want to.

I hope they're not like me David - it took me nearly 7 years to get around to it!
