I am entitled to the 'winter fuel allowance' next winter, is this classed as a 'windfall' or can I keep it[?][?]

I would have thought this would be yours to put towards the bills-especially if the weather is at it is now!!
Not sure if they would view it as additional income though especially if you are managing to cover the bills at the moment???

Hubby gets it, and we keep ours. It helps towards the large winter bill (especially this year as it has been so cold), so we can pay any extra without upping the monthly payments.

I wear 3 when back home in Manchester which is minus 4 degrees today. These fuel allowances are for you to keep not to hand over to your IP.

I am aged enough to have received the winter fuel allowance. I intend only to comment on the statements I will be submitting to explain any "non-salary" entries but assumed it would be mine to keep as my aged bones need more heat pumping into them than you youngsters!

We've got the heating on, and I am wearing my T shirt and hubbys fleece as well. The moisture on the bonnet of the car today which was running off, was freezing into icicles before it hit the floor!
Still foggy here. Glad I'm not going anywhere for the next couple of days!

I have just arrived home after work, and whilst it isn't minus 4, according to the thermometer on the car it IS around minus 1. It has also just started snowing where I am (Flixton for anyone who is interested). Admittedly it is very light, but when combined with the last 2 nights frost, which has never melted, the scene is very very wintry and quite beautiful.
The Sizettes are VERY excited, and are wishing night-time to fall so that the temperature plunges and the snow will therefore be heavier so that they can play snowballs, i.e gang up on me!!!

Where is Flixton Size? Viki told me earlier that they had had snow in Liverpool. We've still had nothing down here and I don't think we have any forecast.

Flixton is actually one of the stations on the line from Liverpool to Manchester. It is a district in the South of Manchester.
