I'm almost ready to sign off for 2008, so just wanted to wish all of the people on this wonderful forum a very Happy New Year.

For those of you in IVAs, you can tick another year off the box and look forward to a new one - that much nearer to completion! For those of you contemplating sorting your debts out, January 1st is a really good time to get those credit card statements out, work out your new income and expenditure budget for the year and see whether you are going to cope.

Often, just the simple exercise of sitting down and writing everything down, can make things look far better than they are, and budgeting for everyone (including me according to my husband!) ought to be a New Year's resolution.

I hope that all of you, wherever you are, have a lovely evening tonight with your families and friends, and those of you working (especially FD who has got a long night shift out in the cold!) wrap up warm, and keep safe.

Happy New Year from me too, we've just come back from the family tradition of going to Panto on NYE, it was brilliant and now I'm gonna get warm and settle down for the evening. x

I hated panto even as a kid, circuses as well.

I hated everything if it didnt involve horses. I'm still anti-social now LOL

My uncle booked tickets to take me to a pantomine every year from when I was 10 until I was 27! We had some laughs, but eventually I had to tell him I didn't really want to go to a panto any more, and could we go to something else!

Mrs S, I've only ever babysat once, and I hated it and got my mum to come over when the baby's nappy needed changing! Dave and I went for a Chinese last night and there was a baby in there - old enough to sit in a high chair and play drums on the table with some chopsticks, but not old enough to be quiet when his mother told him to!

HAHA you would absolutely hate sitting within a mile of my little boy then xxxx

I go every year to the Panto took my children and now take my granddaughter and will continue to do so for as long as I can. To watch her face light up and joining in with the banter makes my day, I don't need to enjoy it, I do it all for them.

I think my problem is that I don't have any patience! My friends don't bring their children round as our house isn't exactly child friendly - last time my friend brought her son round I spent the whole time cringing when he put his feet on the leather sofa! I much prefer going round to see them in their own houses!

Seriously Lesley, I'm glad you all had a good time at the panto. I've still got lovely memories of going with my uncle, even as I got older - I loved seeing Rod Hull and Emu, Ernie Wise, Joe Brown. I'm showing my age now!

Oh Skippy, it's only the local panto in the local hall no 'names' in it that any of you would have heard of real cheap and cheerful but the kids love it. My problem is I live for kids and not myself, tonight was just going to be hubby and I and I've invited the family over and the kids! I just can't be without them and my granddaughter been here since last Saturday! We're all different I guess.
