Hi, if your are talking about income tax, then yes it can be included. It was included on mine, up to the point of the creditors agreement, anything owed after this time must be paid as usual.

Is this your only debt or do you have others as well? An IVA cannot be used if you only have one creditor.

Good luck with your IVA application - HMRC are a tough cookie and can be a difficult one to crack, however Melanie and her team will I am sure support you in this come next week when they talk to you.
You have done the hardest thing - admitting you need help and logging onto this forum you will get the help and support you need right along the process and beyond - the forum remains a key part of people in IVA's throughout the five years so the advice on here is invaluable.

thankyou all so much it is a scary place to be! im sure that when it is all sorted a huge weight will be lifted and im so hopeful of that it keeps me going! one more thing can an iva be joint?

No - there is no such thing as a joint IVA, however you can have a mutual and interlocking IVA with a wife or partner where you pay one combined payment to all aggregate creditors including joint debts. Whether this is applicable to you, will depend upon your own particular circumstances - so an IP will be able to advise on this when you have your initial meeting.
