Hi
Inform your IP that your partner has lost his job, you may be able to use the rebate to bridge the loss of income until he finds work.

That would be the most sensible solution in the circumstances, and I would certainly agree to that if I were acting for you.

Hi all, well it seems my IP isn't as understanding as you. I spoke to them and explained the situation, they have come back today that I have to pay £800 into my IVA and get to keep £500. This has left me baffled as we have no money coming in apart from mine and we have to borrow money each month for fuel get to and from work. Strange.

I agree with Melanie and Andy and if you are with ourselves let me know and I will try and get it sorted out. However, who is getting the cheque for the rebate as I would have thought that HMRC would have sent the cheque to the supervisor? The rebate is pre IVA and should go into the 'pot' but given your circumstances it would seem reasonable to allow you to use this money otherwise soon you will need a variation for a payment holiday or reduced contributions.
