They could do, and to be honest gambling is a bit of mugs game whilst in an IVA, as you will have to hand over any winnings to the Supervisor for the benefit of your creditors under the windfall clause.
How much are you spending on an average week, and how are you affording this out of your allowable expenditure?

i am only spending £40 per month but i am not using a card that is mine to do this well not my card a partners, i give him the money and he puts it on for me. A condition of my IVA was to show proof i had stopped by excluding myself which i did and then sending proof to them .

Do you mean stopped gambling?? If so obviously you havent stopped. Its not an easy thing to give up on,but for you to move your life on you must be able to adjust your behaviour. Have you spoken to people about this??

I had wondered that Paul. I think it could cause a problem if she hasn't given up having told her IVA company that she has.
I agree that it would be a good idea to seek some advice about stopping gambling.
You can see how people get addicted though - all the adverts on TV and online for the different sites, people think it's easy money, but the only winners are the site owners!

Please try and stop. £40 soon could become £50 which soon could become £100. I am sure that there are better uses for this cash within your household budget.

Sorry if you are offended - but you came to the site for advice and I have provided that - please refer to your original question.
Occasionally professional advice is not always well received, and I accept your point of view.

No one is lecturing you Trudi - we are just concerned that this could spiral out of control.
I have no idea how they could find out about your 'flutter', but you have lied to them if you have told them that you have stopped and you haven't.

Sorry if you were offended by anything I said. Can you tell me if gambling caused you to get into debt? If the answer is yes,or partly yes then by continuing to gamble whether your Ip is aware of it or not isnt going to help overcome your problem. Sorry to sound harsh but my wife works with people who have addictions to various things(gambling one of them),and I understand why you wouldnt want to talk to anyone about it because its under control, but can you honestly say that you can keep it controlled?? We are only trying to help, and no one wants to take away a precious past time(i know what you are saying about not smoking or going out etc).
Did your IVA proposal have written into it that you would stop gambling?

no it was never written into IVA the only reason they asked for proof was in case creditors asked what the entry in bank statement was
