Hi my partner will be working away soon and he will be getting non-taxable subsistence, would he be expected to give 50% of this up to the IVA, despite needing it to cover his costs while working away from home. Thanks once again in advance!

Not at all - this money is to pay for his hotels and meals whilst away, and is rarely sufficient to cover the very basic costs in my experience.

Thanks Melanie, I am completely blown over by the help and guidance you and others are providing here - and so rapidly. I just hope that after we have been through this process and hopefully succeeded, we too can share our knowledge and experience with others in our position. Thank you!

That is really what the forum is all about. Sharing and helping others - and I sincerely hope that you will stick around after your IVA has been accepted.

My partner was just wondering how many laptops you must go through in a year..!!

I'm OK with the laptops - I actually have 2, a big one and a little one for travelling, but it is the keyboards on my PCs which wear out rapidly! I cannot actually see the letters on the one I am using this eveing, as they have all worn off over time, but luckily I was taught to touchtype blindfold in the Army, so I manage!

I'm glad I did typing at school as half the letters on my keyboard have worn off!

Thank you Paul!!! If I had made that error in the Army, I would be doing pokey drill around the square now!!!

I am currently having to use the on-screen keyboard as my 2yr old decided to vandalise our laptop, now a whole section of keys doesn't work! I can type fairly quick so this is painstaking!!

That is so frustrating isn't it. Sometimes when I am working at home, into my remote system it occasionally slows down, and I am sitting there absolutely fuming as I cannot see the characters coming up on the screen. Often need to count to ten!
