Hi,
I am new to the site and hope I am posting in the right place!
Me and my hubby are currently 5 months into an IVA and all is going well thankfully after a very stressfull 2008!
I had a car crash on Wednesday last week and have a £425 excess to pay. So far we have made all of our repayments on the IVA and there has not been a problem, however I will need to pay the excess to get my car repaired and so was wondering whether the IP will allow us to miss a payment and tag it onto the end of the arrangement.
Any comments will be gratefully received![:)]

Hi Alex, and welcome.
Sorry to hear about your bump, I hope no one was hurt?
I think your IP will be sympathetic to this. Phone them Monday and ask for a payment break to pay for this.

I am sure that they will Alex, as you will not have had enough time to build up a contingency fund for that - which in any case is an exceptional occurance.

The car repair has to be treated as a priority, as if you cannot get to and from work, you cannot earn the money to fund the IVA.

Yes - speak to your IP and ask for a payment break to cover the costs of the repairs.

Hi All,
Just thought i'd let you know that we phoned the IP about the car repairs and they are happy to offer us a payment break to cover the cost.
Thanks for the advice!
