I am a British Citizen who is now living in Canada. I have debts over 14000 sterling which were taken out in the UK which I cannot repay because I cannot work and therefore wish to declare bankruptcy. I cannot return to the UK to do this so can I appoint a representative within the UK to do it for me and if so how do I do this?
Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I am really not sure what happens with a bankruptcy in the UK if you are abroad.
I'll bump this back up to the top so that one of the professional experts can see it and advise.

You can appoint a Power of Attorney to act on your behalf in the UK, who will deal with this for you, but this will involve costs.
Can I suggest that you contact Paul Johns of Reviva, who posts on the forum as an expert, and had knowledge of this particular arena.
