Hi,
Should I stay with vodafone on contract throughout my IVA to help improve my credit rating faster at the end of my IVA? My contract is nearly up and would be cheaper to change to pay as you go. Worried about changing to pay as you go, what if I need a new phone my IVA will not allow for the costs but I could simply upgrade my current contract. Please advise if keeping the contract would help my credit rating in anyway?

PAYG won't help your rating at all, and you may find it difficult to take out a new contract with any other supplier.
I would stay with Vodaphone, it will help your rating in the long term.

Stay with vodaphone - it will help in the end with your credit rating - I am with Three and I could easily save money each month but want keep my contact so that come the end it helps with me getting credit again in the end !

I'm the same - I'm with Vodafone and could save money by changing to PAYG but want to keep the contract to help my credit rating. See if Vodafone have a better tariff for you to try and save money, although be warned they don't offer their best tariffs to existing customers!

Threaten to leave them and say that you are disappointed that after all these years being a customer of there's that there latest offer to you is way below what you were hoping for and that you would now have to consider leaving them - bet you very quickly you get a decent tariff and a really good new phone !

You should be able to get a decent phone anyway when you upgrade - I've always managed to get one.

I did get a really good new phone when I upgraded last year. When I phoned last month to reduce my tariff they told me that I couldn't as I was told when I upgraded I couldn't change for a year (I wasn't), that I'd signed a new contract when I upgraded (I didn't) and to top it off the tariff I wanted was only available for new customers!
I told them what I thought about their policies, but as I can't threaten to leave until September there wasn't a lot I could do.

My advice is to stay with vodafone because if you leave you will not be able to get a contract phone with any provider including vodafone again as you will not pass the credit checks. If you want to make things cheaper try and you dont need a new phone try there sim only tariffs. Im with 02 and will be staying with them for the next 6 years recently upgraded to a blackberry 8900 amd im very happy with it.
