Please help - I have debts and am paying out more than my monthly salary and need some advice. I have a loan which I pay £180 pm, and have just over 3 years left (just under £7000 left). I owe £6000 on credit cards, £2200 on store cards and £750 on catalogues. I went to my bank (who I have the loan with) for a consolidating loan and they turned me down. I don't know what to do - my salary has gone as soon as it hits my bank account, and I'm living off tax credits, which, with 3 children, doesn't go far. Please help! Thank you.

You have taken the first step by admitting your problems, which is always hard to do.

You need to speak to an Insolvency Practitioner as soon as possible to get help.

Visit www.iva.com for a list of companies you can phone, and reviews of those companies. Give one or two a ring and they will advise you of all the options open to you and the best way forward.

Hi - its daunting when you realise the true extent of debt, but at least you have made a step towards getting debt free. So well done !

Take Jan's advice and contact a few IP's just to see what options are viable for you. There will be a solution, its just a case of deciding what it is.

you are insolvent by the sounds of it, but take proffesional advice,but the term insolvent in one sense makes you a perfect candidate for an iva
