Hubby was saved from this round of redundancies.. but has now been told that if they don't accept a payrise of 2% instead of 5.3% 26 more jobs will have to go!! So whats the problem.. some greedy people ( thats only cos not allowed to swear) have kicked off saying they're not interested in taking a 2% payrise.. and aren't bothered about the jobs!!
Can you really believe it!! The country is on its knees.. people losing homes and jobs.. I really couldn't believe my ears!!!

You would think that as long as they have a job, and some sort of payrise, they would be happy!
If they're not bothered about the jobs, they should be the ones to go!

That's terrible. I can't believe the attitude of some people - wouldn't they rather have a job? In case you can't tell that sort of attitude really winds me up - perhaps they should be grateful that they are getting a rise of any sort.

Beggars belief....if they don't want the job, why don't they see if voluntary redundancy is an option.
They'll probably accept Ang, when they realise the alternative.

I think some companies are now using this credit crunch to take the pee. I work for the nhs and no way is the credit crunch responsible but they are trying to change our unsociable hours due to the credit crunch.
Ang,lets just hope the ones that arent interested in their jobs are the ones that volunteer to leave 1st!!!

its the ones who've been there for years and who think that they're jobs will be ok.. so stuff the rest..
heads up own bums springs to mind.. shop steward came in on his day off. shook his head and went home, hubby was ready to punch one (which I told him some redundancy would be better than the sack!!),
round 2.. bring on my twitching eye again!!!

Most people ought to be very pleased to get offered a 2% wage increase given the current economic climate - difficult to understand the mentality of some people these days, when there are so many out of work.
Perhaps they ought to ask the dissenters if they wish to accept voluntary redundancy?
