Hi,
Your credit is shot for 6 years from when the IVA was first taken out.
What you will need to do is to send a copy of your completion certificate to each of the 3 Credit Agencies who will update you records.
If you have a phone contract or catalogues and manage your bank account well these are reported to the agencies and would help in the long term

Plus mortgage or rent up to date helps on there as well.

If, when you get your reports, any of your creditors are showing as having defaulted you after the date of the IVA approval, you will need to write to them to get them to remove it.
They can't default once you are in an IVA.

For info I completed my IVA in Sept last year - I have 2 defaults against my name dated 2006 but I have managed to open a new bank account with an overdraft (although I didn't opt for hte overdraft) - I have also opened a new phone contract without any difficulty.
