Earlier I spoke to debt free direct. He phoned me back an hour later re a debt managemnt plan. He said he was waiting for the solicitors verdict and needed more info re length of loans. I told him I had spoke to david mondes compnay and they had not needed so much info. He was rude and said he would not be conpared to other competitiors and terminated my phonecall. Overall a bad day!

I think that says it all about DFD. The IPs on here invite you ring around until you find a company you are comfortable with.
If Mr Mond is personally looking after your interests beleve me you have nothing to worry about. He worked overtime for me until we got the required outcome. Good Luck, we are here for you

Wintherace, you seem to not be sure that you want to go with abacus.. as you are still calling around maybe you need to take time out and consider what you really want to do. I would strongly advise sticking with abacus as they are part of cleardebt and I have found them professional, helpful and quick. But if you are unsure you do need to think carefully as a DMP can last a very long time.

I would stick with David if that is who you have decided to go with. He comes recommended.

Why not try CCCS as a comparison. They don't charge any fees and are funded by the creditors, so you would technically get all of your debts repaid quicker, at the cost of your creditors directly.

Why not ask them what their success rate is in getting your particular creditors to stop charging interest or threatening legal action against you. I personally feel you are in good hands, but if would be very interesting for you to compare a commercial fee-charging company to a charity.

Actually utilising the services of a charity who are paid by the banks means that the banks never get paid in full ever. Whilst those from the commercial sector usually do.

Anyway I am sure that my guys at Abacus will look after you and wherever possible will get interest frozen, although some banks don't agree to this.

We are here to serve and you have two other problems which I am going to deal with on your behalf.

David

I thought that all of the money went to creditors (in a CCCS case) and that creditors then pay a contribution back to CCCS by way of a collection charge. So technically don't creditors get paid back in full?

I would still grudgingly choose CCCS or Payplan if not go it alone on a DMP....even though I have not given CCCS the glowing reviews. As DMP is their core buisness - what they do best....but just don't expect them to get interest cancelled for the life of the DMP...no firm can guarantee this. This must be the 'health warning'put on all DMPs.

Other Debt businesses will try to get any debtor on their books for othet debt services if they can't market you an IVA. Its just business, and DFD is the biggest around with SHARE HOLDERS.

Creditors are badly wounded over other big losses on their books and so a good time for DMP in those respects in getting leniency....but for how long??

David is right on CCCthe payment

I would stick with Abacus. You will be well looked after and they are a well respected company.

Good luck x

They were really rude to my husband - they would not discuss anything other than b/r - called him a waste of space because he wanted the impossible(according to them)- an IVA. he got that from Melanie with no hitches. J

It's about time some of these customer centres had some proper training.

J - Money,Debt,Credit were the same with us. Told us to sell our car and to go bankrupt - even though we had good disposable income and equity in the house!

Very well thank you Jan - GPs drops have done the trick - he just has to be careful but he does have a stubborn streak in him - always others before himself - can't change him. J
