It may be in your best interests to attend so that you put your case in person. That way, if there are any queries or problems, you can be there to answer them.

I would attend the hearing - to put your mind at ease it will be with a judge in chambers which means the judge will be in a suit at the head of the table with you on one side and the lender solicitors on the other.
FYI - the judge will only consider legal matters ie is the return of goods order valid (has all the paperwork been completed correctly) and if the lender has followed due legal process (which from the sounds of your posts they have).
Whilst they will be sympathetic (depending on the District Judge) how you got into the situation, why in your view you need the car and or any emotional pleas in the end will not be considered.
What are your arguments to the court that they should decline the order ??
