Hi

Well I spoke to Coop and the reaally nice lady said that their system is showing that I have visa Electron and the 4508875 IS an electron identifier, she apologised and said that this has never happened befure with a visa debit card being printed with an electron number she is going to speak to card services on Monday and ring me back, she said that either the 4508 will get changed to Debit or the card will get reissued as 4988 which is Debit.

She also explained the cashminder 3 strikes system and said that if I have a problem with a direct debit ring them up and they can cancel and then reinstate it later.

Im starting to get really impressed with Coop again, Ive moved my 4 direct debits over to them, just need to blag think for this month.

Will keep you posted when I hear back on Monday.

Co-op told me that if I applied now I would receive an Electron Card but if I waited until mid-July the card would be Visa Debit

Hi
Coop are getting rid of the electron card, the lady on the phone said its going to be Visa Debit and Visa Debit with Cheque Guarantee (for eligable current accounts), she said the only other option would be to request an ATM card bbut that doesnt come as standard.

I shall just wait and see what they decide to send me,or just keep my green electron card!!(which does enough to keep me happy!!)

I liked my green card but I left it in Tesco and Co-op sent me a nasty blue one! Hopefully I'll get Visa debit cards for both my accounts soon.

The Co-op have always been great with me - I've got a full account with Nationwide but I've one back to the Co-op as the customer service is so good.

Also, I refuse to pay for banking services if I don't have to! I've got 2 Cashminder accounts, one for spending and one for bills which works for me as I know whatever's left in my main account is mine.

Fair Comment
I only have four direct debits so if needs be ill move them on Monday, i just dont have self control over money and the service I have recieved off Coop has been poor except for today. If the woman does call me back on monday thats great but then again they shouldnt of made this error with the card in the first place

I think all banks make errors unfortunately - didn't you have a problem with Think a while back? I've found the Co-op customer service second to none - I made a payment in error and although they said they couldn't do anything about it they phoned me later to confirm they had recalled the money, and when I checked the account it was there. Nationwide were totally different - when 2 declined payments were taken from my account they said there was nothing they could do and I'd have to wait for it to bounce back.

If you're not confident with the Co-op and don't feel that you have any self control with money I can't help thinking you'd be better of sticking with Think.

Thanks Skippy

I agree that Think may be a better idea, and yer I did have a problem with Think and it was major problem but they sorted it. I just dont like coops attitude some times and they have made me wait for recalled payments

It would appear that the Co-op has more positive reviews on here than negative ones.

If it wasn't such a pain to change, then I'd go with them.
