How would you fund the payments into the IVA?

Generally speaking you would need a regular household income for an IVA to work.

Thanks

Generally IVAs are not suitable for the unemployed, unless you have a lump sum to offer or assets to realise.

How much do you owe to your creditors, and are you a property owner with equity?

Hi, I have been following this forum throughout my IVA process and found it extremely vital for my understanding.

Now I am really confused what was stated about IVA and self-employed. I always thought that one of the reasons IVA was developed was to deal with self-employed.

Could you Melanie explain what you mean by self-employed people having to have a lump sum to offer or assets to realise.

Sorry to have my first message like this but I am just worried that those self-employed finding themself in difficulties would rule out the IVA option available for them.

I assume that Melanie meant unemployed.

Think Mel meant unemployed rather than self employed.

I always read Melanies responses because I have found them really spot on and clear. She is amazing with having time to respond to so many questions that is no wonder that sometimes a little "mistake" creeps in.

No spanking please as I really like this forum.
