Hi to everybody and I hope all are well. Just reading a few posts on here and just thought I'd even things out by giving DFD a bit of good press. Some of you may remember my anxieties a few months ago regarding outstanding tax bills, annual reviews and pregnancy. Well as hoped, everything has now been sorted and DFD could not have handled things better if I'd asked. They managed to get my husbands pre-iva tax bill included in the iva, much to the annoyance of HMRC, the review came and went with no increase and no amount owing for the past year despite my pay increase and certainty that they would want back pay. And most recently I they have arranged for me to have a payment break and reduced contributions for the duration of my maternity leave. I couldn't have asked for more. Granted, they can take a few days to reply to queries but they have always returned my calls and made me feel at ease. No doubt I will be a complete stress head at our next annual review but for now I am more than happy with the service provided. Well done DFD!

I'm due 24th October. Although it feels like forever away. At least all IVA worries are sorted. They even took into account that my hubby wanted to take 2 weeks paternity leave on the measly statutory paternity pay. He was self employed when our daughter was born so couldn't afford time off. At least this time he'll be around for a bit :)

Thankyou. We already found out it's another girl but we're really struggling on names this time around. Just praying it all goes smoothly as I had a pretty rough time with my first. She's outweighed the tough delivery by miles though. She's a little angel!

Awww a little girlie...my speciality [:)]

Whats your daughters name? How old is she?

If she's old enough to have input, it can be fun and extra special.

Not too long to go now xx

DFD do have a lot of good points. I think their ONLY downfall is communication. Hubby's IVA went really smoothly with them and no increase for 3 years and of course they got his F&F accepted.
They are such a HUGE company and not everyone can be pleased but i think overall they are OK and the job does get done. Even if it is with a bit of pushing and a bombardment of emails.

I think its great to have Declan from DFD on board as he can quickly iron out posters concerns.

The best way to judge an IVA firm is the quality of the IPs....and they all came from an accountancy background....admin quality and communicatuon can vary in any firm or organisation of any business.

Some IVA are straight forward and I reckon for mine an IP will take less time than most...very straight forward..my review took less than 7 days.I intend to keep it that way.AKA.[No complications] in the screwed up world we live in and inherited

10/10 for DFD!

Hi all just reading through this thread and as a person with an IVA with DFD have to 2nd all that you have said, I'm now entering into my 3rd year with them and apart from a hiccup with my I+E this year I haven't had any problems with them. Being in debt is a stressful enough situation as it is so having a firm sorting out this fairly quickly and painlessly makes life somewhat easier. The fact that Declan is here to answer any queries is great and i hope that he has caught the big one over the weekend.

In response to Ladyh and Swansgirl, my little girl will be 2 on 6th November so am hoping this one will be well out by then. I second the opinion on epidurals. My first was in an awkward position and got stuck after 30 hours of contractions. I don't think I'd have survived if it hadn't been for the epidural. Definately will not be ruling it out this time around either!

Good luck to you Martha...there's 22 months between my girls, they're 25 and 23 now and absolutely adore each other!

I had CS on both girls for different reasons...my advice is take all the pain relief you can get [:D]xx

Mine was an emergency C Section, epidural and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

I particularly enjoyed the pethidine afterwards when the epiduaral wore off - that was brilliant!

I had pethidine before the epidural with my first. Thought I'd try all the drugs on offer. The midwife couldn't believe I was sitting reading a book after the pethidine injection. I do have a very high tolerence to anaesthetic drugs though. Usually takes a good few before the dentist can get anywhere near me!
