IVA Checkline?

Hi, my IVA is just coming up to one year and everything is going well, and no contact from my creditors since the IVA started. But today I received a letter from "M & D Services, IVA Checkline", the envelope address was handwritten, the contents were a stock letter saying they had "noticed me" on the IVA register and offered me advice on all sorts of halcyon options like cancelling my IVA with no further liability, getting confidential advice etc.

I like to think that I am savvy enough to know that this is not what it says it is, and have no intention of responding, but am still alarmed to receive it. Could it be from a creditor/debt collector trying to get me to invalidate my IVA? Or is it a known scam to transfer my IVA?

Sounds like another vulture trying to "assist" you through Bankruptcy for a fee.

If you are happy with your IVA then carry on. Why fix something thats not broke?

Now that is a company I've not heard of before and one our posters need to beware of by the looks of it.

It won't be from a creditor, they cannot do anything like this. It will be from one of the firms we post against on here.

If you cancel your IVA you will be back to square one. They will either offer you assisted BR or a secured loan to pay off your debts, which effectively means that you are no better off.

If you are happy with your IVA, then treat this letter with the contempt it deserves. Either bin it or contact your IP and send it to them.

Yet another of these tiresome companies who are only in this game to make a fast buck by rubbishing the advice provided to you by professionals actually qualified to provide that advice!

Refer this to your IP who is bound to want to have a few sharp words with the originator.

They are so annoying!

I'm sure we will get a letter or two - one will go to our IP and I will write to them as well telling them exactly where they can stick their offer!

Worked with one of them, might work with any others as well!

Thank you all for your advice, I shall contact my IP about this letter in the morning. I think I assumed I would be immune from this sort of junk once my IVA launched, but clearly not!. Very grateful for your help.

Unfortunately not! These lowlife firms trawl the register and write to everyone on there.

Wish there was some way of stopping this, but it's not to be.

I always write and demand a reply and mostly get one I always mention the MPS as they could be wrong in sending me unsolicited mail. Normally works for me but I enjoy doing the fight x

I write and tell them that I'm happy with my IVA, mention the forum and tell them not to contact me again!

Worked the last time as I've had nothing since from whichever firm it was!

As someone who would like to keep my iva secret from those I live with, I fear this type of letter falling into the wrong hands.

Wish they would just stop sending this junk out, if I want to go BR i'd do it myself, but I don't cause I passed the point of no return ages ago so please don't contact me with this junk.

Nothing you can do to stop it unfortunately!

I think it is usually addressed by name, so it should only be for you to open.

You can just say it is junk about insurance or something like that.

Based in Bournemouth I see, just like other ambulance chasers that have had to be dealt with.

Ignore them.
