Hi to all, i have been in my IVA two years next Mar and in the past year i have lost my dad whom i lived with, and become pregnant.. i have had to have two iva payments delayed in the last four months as i had my dog diagnosed with addisons which could have been fatal, and the vet bills soared,stupidly didnt take insurance out (to any pet owners out there ensure you get insurance)..
Anyway my point is when i rang my IVA company the woman i dealt with was quite off with me!! as though i had done the biggest crime of the century and that i was trying to swindle her[:0], my iva fee hasnt changed since i lost my father, and im the only one paying the bills unlike before and im now dreading telling them of my pregnancy because of the two delayed payments ive already had this year, can anyone recommend the best approach to deal with this, roll on 2010...[|)]

What an awful year you have had! I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father, and can totally sympathise with the dog being ill. I have two myself and would always have insurance for them, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. I hope your dog continues for many a year.

Are you still with your partner? Could he help you out at all?

Hi thanks for that, yes i will get on to that, sadly no my partner and i have gone our seperate ways yet another thing i didnt forsee, he may help with the baby, once he/she is born, but not until then.. (understandably) i just feel like im dropping into a bigger hole!!

I suggest that in the first instance you make a complaint to the IP for the way his/her staff spoke to you. You are doing your best and there is no need for that sort of attitude from someone paid to be at your assistance.

Which firm are you with?

If you are stuggling with the IVA payments, and you do need to think about how the arrival of the little one will impact upon your disposable income, I suggest that you arrange to have a discussion or meeting directly with your IP so that they can give help and advice as to the way forward. Your payment can be reduced, but this may need the agreement of creditors.

I totally agree with you melanie, but im not one for upsetting the applecart, i was so happy just to have the payment agreed, after that i didnt care really what her approach was!, in your experience what are the chances of the creditors agreeing to a reduced payment for my situation?
