Hi everyone.
Just to let you know I am about to put down a deposit on a nice new car under lease. Renault Clio 08...sooo excited...they can deliver on Tuesday.
I have to now get my insurance sorted.
Question.....I am currently with Zurich and pay monthly...have been for many years. If I phone them up and change details will they do a credit check and not accept me paying monthly?
Can any one else suggest an insurer who would accept people in IVAs on monthly payment plans?

Best of luck with your new motor Busybee. I don't think you will have any problem with Zurich as I doubt if they will run a credit check. Give them the new details and see what they say but also try the price comparison sites or someone like Direct Line.

Thanks Michael. I will give them a bell in the morning. I thought I saw a post on here a couple of months ago when someone got turned down by Zurich. As I am an exisitng customer and have been for a while I hope they won't feel the need to check on me. I did have a look on the Tesco site and started to fill in the form and it said 'credit checks may be done'. Really can't understand why they do credit checks..at the end of the day you pay up front and they can cancel you at any time

You can, providing you can make the payments on top of your IVA payments and your creditors agree to it.
A good firm to use is this one:

The APR is high, and I believe you need a deposit but they are very IVA friendly.

Hi,
Through Duncton. I did have a poke around on the internet but they all seem to go back to Duncton as the actual supplier...ie alot of brookers on the net so better off going to Duncton direct.
Got to say I found them really nice and friendly and accommodating. Had to send them copies of Driving licence and paper part, 2 months bank statements, passport, one utility bill, proof of residence ie a letter I received from my letting agent ages ago/or original tenancy agreement. They also asked me for evidence that my IP had agreed I could lease!!! which i did..had an email from them saying yes. Just had to fork out £1194..deposit, doc fee and delivery charge. Feel quite stressed at paying it out but needs must. My car is still on the website. Silver one £213 a month. I would definately recommend Duncton.

If you are already with Zurich, you should not have a problem. They will just change your details.

They should only be interested in the change of details. As long as you are paid up to date, you should sail through it.
Let us know when you have done it.

How exciting a new car..enjoy and I'm sure your insurer will just update details rather than credit check.
