I guess this is a no whilst in an IVA. I am currently on a pay monthly contract and yesterday applied for a 12 month contract....this was declined following a credit check. My question is I am currently with Virgin Media for home phone and would like to change to BT do you think that this will also be declined? Anyone had the same problem?

I don't know the answer but I would suggest that you could get a contract phone in a friend or relative's name and pay them. If you did not want to tell them why you could say that you messed up a contract with a different provider and that's why you can't get a new one.

Good idea Michael.

Not sure about whether or not you will have any problems switching back to BT, you will have to give them a ring.

I wouldn't recommend the Total Broadband though, or the Broadband talk.

I foolishly went with BT again this year as they did me a reasonable deal. We are now waiting for another home hub - our second in the new contract. We had three in the previous one.

I doubt I will renew with them next year (roll on!) and will go with Sky myself.

Hi
I have changed from BT to Sky with no problems. I have every thing with them now it is much cheaper and more reliable. We are not in a very good Braodband area but it has been better since I have been with Sky.

Hi
Sorry Jan!!
Must confess was tempted to continue with BT as I did not want the hastle of changing have had enough of it this year.
Sadly it may continue into next year have just heard our department in the local council may be closing to save money and we may be made redundant. They is the possibility of other posts but in is all up the air at the moment.I am so worried as at my age it is going to be very difficult to find another job.

I'm sorry to hear that Linda, I hope the department doesn't close and your job is safe x

Thanks Skippy but I am not very hopeful. It is such a shame because we are a happy team that work well together and we will be missed by the public. Is funny they never seem to get rid of any managers.

Strange that isn't it? They made over 300 people redundant across our company earlier this year and I don't recall any of them being managers.

Yes it makes you sick.
I had a meeting with our customer service manager yesterday when she told me about this, it is the first time she had ever spoken to me, I have worked there for 18months! She said you know where I am so I said no I don't actually as this is the first time we have ever spoken! She was surposed to come and see us today. she never normally sets foot in our dept but did she heck.
The sad thing is she probably nearly earns as much as our whole dept put together!
