Well 12 months after an IVA, so those wondering what life is like afterwards heres an idea -
Remmber when your iva got accepted it like a big weight been lifted of shoulder, you get use to life in iva, well when you finish it you get the same feeling.
Since coming out of my IVA, i have done the following -
Got Married
Purchased a motorbike
Purchased a house for £220,000, but my dad had to remortgage his out by £121,000 due to the fact i can still not get a mortgage, so house in wifes name, but need to pay my dad back by march 2011, but financial adviser doesnt think it will be a problem then.
Still got a visa electron, going to try for a visa debit card in new year.
Got a visa card from abbey, owe about £700 on it at the momment, but not a problem, mainly down to card breakdowns etc, even ehrn not in an iva things happen you cant afford, but i dont think this is any different to been in an iva and a similiar thing happening and asking your ip for a payment break.
Still budget my money tightly, going on first holiday for 3 years in May and taking £3000 spending money, if i bring some back great, if not i dont care going to enjoy myself.
Even though not in an iva, moneys still tight, but its like i have a new life, and i have learnt to budget, things i want i now save up for it, and it feels like i have earned for it instead of borrowing money.
So things are good, but without an IVA it would not be, i couldnt see the light at the end of a tunnel before an iva, in an iva i could see the light, and now finished the IVA i am in the light.
For those in doubt, stick it out.
I now earn £36k and feels great i dont have to justify it to any one
