Hi all,

Not so on the up at the moment with some highs and lows over the last few years, any way i would like to ask the question regarding a full and final settlement, i have submitted a letter to debt free direct asking them to put forward an offer of up to £10000 as a f/f, due to a re occurence of my partners mental health isues which was one of the reasons for our debt, and the strain on our relationship and her job and the possibility of my job having to change to adapt, i have explained the details in more detail to a very helpful customer service at dfd who told me to put this in writing. The money has been made available through very generous family & freind to try and help us get through this difficult time, my monthly payment is £429 with 22months left, i have an equity release clause but house prices are down with little equity and i assume difficulty in obtaining a remortgage. I just hope they can help so i can try and get my family back on track, i would appreciate any comments or experience in this kind of situation, and if Declan could keep a watchful eye at DFD for a speedy answer i would really appreciate it as i feel that time is at the essence.

Regards

Rob

Hi Rob

You have followed all the right steps and as the FF total is more than the amount you would be paying over the remaining 22 months hopefully this will be accepted for you. In the mean time ensure you continue to meet your monthly repayments until the variation meeting has been held.

Good luck

Thanks for the reassurance guys, my priority is just to get family back to normal as soon as possible with the help of family and friends, and do my best for my partner as well as our IVA, head spinning with all this at moment but really appreciate your feedback.

This site so valuable as a release, sorry if it seems like i am sounding off a load of nonsense

Kind Regards

Rob

You are not sounding off a load of nonsense at all, that's what we are here for.

I'm sure Declan will keep an eye on you and keep you informed.

It looks like a good offer to me as well - taking account of your future payments plus a small gesture towards any equity in your property.

Do let us know how you get on.

I will Jan, thank you all for your comments.
DFD have received my letter of proposal and my reasons for the offer and it has been sent to the relevant dept to give it the once over, then i am just awaiting there response to whether the offer is good enough to put forward in a variation meeting, Hopefully it goes smoothly and swiftly and if Declan is watching perhaps he could keep a watchfull eye on proceedings for me,

Thanks again it feels so good just having somewhere to get rid of thoughts to people in similar positions.

Good Luck All

Rob

Hello Everyone,

Just an update, DFD have been very good in dealing with my case so far, i have had to send in a recent valuation of property and my current mortgage statement for evaluation, they have agreed that there is little equity in the property, i have a phone call booked for wednesday for a member of there team to run through the draft proposal for f/f with me before it sent to my creditors, has anyone any experience of this?? my proposal of full and final has been viewed by my IP who is willing to put it forward as a credible offer which makes me feel a lot better knowing a proffesional has casted an eye over it. fingers crossed and good luck to all you others in an IVA or considering it, the help i have received from this forum and DFD when i was at my lowest point will never be forgot and is one debt that i will never be able to repay.

Thanks

Rob

That's great to hear Rob - especially as there has been a lot of adverse comment about this firm on the forum today. Nice to see some balanced comments which is what this forum is all about.
