Hi there, As some may know, we are in our fourth year of our joint IVA but last December my husband declared himself bankrupt because of tax bills that he could not pay.

I am proposing to continue my IVA by offering a reduced contribution for my proportion of the debt. I haven't heard anything from my IP since early in January (after contacting them initially on 14th December 09), even though I am chasing them at the moment.

Would it take this long to propose a variation of this kind.

Many thanks.

Hi Seahorse,

I would have thought that your IP should have been in touch with you by now, I can't remember what company you are with, but try sending an email directly via this link:

You may find you get an answer sooner rather than later.

I would try and contact your IP to chase this up - over two months with no contact isnot good enough and for your own piece of mind I would ring them or email them. Good luck.

Hi there

Have just been in touch with my IP and my variation is just waiting to be drafted as they have a hugh backlog!!

It just seems a pain that there has to be another meeting when my creditors will get the same return!!(my husband and I both owed the approximately £40,000 and his debts are gone and the contribution I am proposing is just over half of the original!!)

Oh well, just procedure I guess.
