I know that the IVA will drop off the register and credit files after 6 years. Is that the same for a 72 month IVA which could potentially be an 84 monther?

The IVA will drop off after six years regardless of whether it is a 6 year one or not.

I doubt an IVA would continue for 84 months.

I think mine could if I can't release any equity in year 6!

I used to have a 17 year duration IVA in my portfolio! No IVA can be extended past the term it was intended to run over, without the sanction of both debtor and creditors.
