Creditors meeting this morning and the lovely Garath has just rung us to say that our interlocking IVA'S have been approved.[:D] There are one or two modifications, one of our creditors objected to us making our monthly payment to Denplan - it is impossible to get a NHS dentist where we live - we are on a waiting list for a NHS dentist. The same creditor also wants to reduce our optical allowance. The outcome means an additional £29 per month - so will just have to get dentures & not see!!![:)]
We would like to thank Melanie, Garath and Tina for all their help and patience. They have helped us all the way on this epic journey and we look forward to being debt free and perhaps even retiring at the end of our IVA'S![:D] Thanks to all on this forum who have helped us throughout and we will continue to follow & contribute.

Well done but again we have the CCCS guidelines being set in stone. I too have Denplan as NHS dentists are as easy to find as hen's teeth! The last year and a half I have had to get a huge amount of treatment that would have cost thousands but luckily I was covered. Even the NHS do not pay the full cost and one root canal can set you back almost £200. Ridiculous.

Hi Michael. Quite agree it does seem ridiculous as if we keep on with our Denplan we have the assurance of knowing that we are covered in the event of us needing dental work done. As you say, even with the NHS the costs are high if needing any big work done.

Hi Nellie,
Congratulations on the start of your journey to being debt free.
You are in safe hands with Melanie and her team.
It is disappointing about your Denplan , but you'll cope , I'm sure.
It has been mentioned a lot on this forum about CCCS guidelines not appearing to be reviewed regularly , but that's something we all have to live with.
Good luck

Hi Nellie

I am glad your IVA was approved - even with the modifications it must be a weight off your shoulders.

Good luck with the next steps towards being debt free x

Glad you had good news Nellie - well done! [:)][:)]

Annoying that creditors argue against these allowances - but I know Mel's team would have done their best.

Enjoy the wine xx

It is ridiculous to stop these sort of policies, when creditors will not even notice if my client has to have dental work done and can then not even meet their IVA payments for a month or two.

I will see no clients of mine suffering from a lack of dental work, or in pain from toothache, due to the ridiculous antics of one or two creditor representatives.

Great news on the acceptance Nellie, and you know that my door is always open if you have health problems which are not covered by these paultry allowances.

She certainly does, and not always just for her clients either!

I wish all IP's were as understanding when it comes to emergency work for whatever reason.

We are so pleased with our choice of IP. Ours can not have been the most straight forward of cases to be put forward , but we put all our faith & trust in Melanie & her very efficient team. They did their utmost to ensure everything was explained to us in detail and that we knew exactly what we were proposing, hence we were rewarded with a very favourable solution. It is so nice to know that we can turn to Melanie in the future should we have the need to.

..and that is worth its weight in gold Nellie. Having experienced a not so good IP ( I'm being polite), I am so glad forum members are researching and making the right choices when deciding on an IP.
