Sorry Admins, not sure where to put this or even if i can vent some anger, if its not right then feel free to delete.
I haven't got much due to my debt problems and my IVA, but i do have my car, its not flash but it is a little sporty french hatch which i cherish and look after. Due to moving jobs i have to have the car parked outside my flat, previously is stayed on my other halves driveway. Some sod last night decided to key the bonnet and bounce a brick off it! so b***** annoyed.
That car is almost all mine, i can taste the final payment and now someone has done this to it! So annoyed!
Well tonight ive washed it, and polished it, my mate who does car repairs has pulled 90% of the dent out but cant do anymore without damaging the paintwork.
I just don't get how people can do this, i worked hard for this car (don't laugh i have actually paid for it nearly) i can't afford and really don't want to replace it after my iva its a great car, the car is 5 years old this august only 32k on the clock and now some scumbag has done this, if i could get my hands on them......
Vent over - sorry!

Vent all you like.
That's not a good thing to have happened, and I really hope it was a one off.
The only way to fix it properly I suppose is to go through the insurance, but of course that would mean you would lose some no claims bonus and would probably have to pay an excess.

I don't blame you for feeling like that, I'd be exactly the same. I really can't understand the mentality of people who just want to ruin other peoples' things.
There was a spate of cars being keyed where we used to live. Luckily mine wasn't one of them, but I felt bad for the people who were affected.
Could you go through insurance?

Well over £600 for a full respray, that way the colour will match. Otherwise wait it out, when iva is over then respray the car, its a pity the car is one of those bright shiny blues, can't just touch it up.
Insurance will sting me for £200 excess and then my policy will def go up next year, i can't afford that.
Ive applied some t-cut polish and buffed it a little, hopefully in the morning it won't look too bad. Just really annoys me my last car got beat up on supermarket car parks (oh i work for tesco) this one hasn't been near one of these carparks and still gets beat up!

Don't get me started on supermarket car parks! Or car parks in general for that matter!

We live out in the country - very rural - and have a driveway up to our house. One morning I woke up to find that my soft top had a 12" slash right through the top. Angry was not the word - and to think that someone had particularly gone out of their way to do this was particularly eerie.

That's awful Mel, I can't believe that someone would go out of their way like that to do something - creepy.

I know, im a duty manager for tesco, amount of people that come in, my car was hit by another car, trolley, another customer etc etc.... park at owners risk, and thats it.
I had one insist we gave her CCTV footage of the car park, the reply was get a police warrant, data protection!!
I always double park at the top of the car park away from it all at work, keeps my car fairly safe, just thought it was safe at home.

We've had several cars keyed by me recently - all belonging to two or three families. The main road where they are is a cul de sac, off which are just cul de sacs, so no reason for anyone to just be walking past. One of the houses has now installed CCCTV.
Mel, that is particularly scary.

Sainsburys actually paid for repairs to my aunt's car when it was damaged in their car park! There was really high wind and they hadn't cleared the trolley bays and one blew into the back of her car. She complained to head office and they agreed to pay, and sent her £50 as compensation for her inconvenience!
I wish someone would explain to the muppets who collect the trollies (when they can be bothered) at Tesco that they are less likely to damage cars if they collected a few less at a time! It's not going to kill them to do a few more journeys!

I have to defend our little man at Tesco - he's good with the trolleys! I often see him searching for those which have gone astray and he must do a few miles doing that.
I did have to smile some years ago with my uncle. He always used to park his car in the farthest reaches of whichever car park he was in so no other vehicle would park near him, even though he had to walk a fair way to get to whichever store.
He did that at B&Q in Yeovil once, and came out to find that he had a massive dent in his car as the trolley lads had been messing about and smacked a load of trolleys into it!
I he'd parked closer, that wouldn't have happened!

We really pressure our trolley team, but sometimes customers leave them in odd places, the other day someone left them at the magnetic ground anchors 50 of the damn things just stuck in the middle of the road, all from one lazy customer.
The ground anchors stop them from being stolen, and they can't leave the car park.

We have a famous statue in the city centre in Cardiff, and most Saturday nights he can be seen "wearing" a trolley from Sainsbury's!!

I'll bet that's a sight!
Our trolleys are not supposed to be able to leave the car park, but they turn up in some strange places!
We do have one chav family living on an estate at the rear of our Tesco who seem to have their own personal trolley as it is always at the side of their house! Beats carrying your bags home I suppose!

It's like that at the Tesco I go to Jan!
I can understand that if people leave them in odd places they won't be collected as quickly, but at my local Tesco they seem incapable of getting them from the trolley bays, and if it's raining you haven't got a hope - I don't think they venture out!
Some of the staff in my local Tesco do leave a lot to be desired although things have improved a bit - I haven't had to complain for a while now!
