Hello all,
Two weeks post IVA acceptance.1st payment due out tomorrow, and yes,,,,, barclays sending red letters requiring immediate payment ! tesco credit card sending default notices, do they not communicate within there organisations, at least Barclaycard have stopped phoning nightly ! Oh the joys, but I am assured by my case officer these will end soonish, and to forward any letters to her to deal with. Once again can't praise PayPlan enough.Strange emotions at the moment guilt at the debt we have accumulated and happiness that we are no longer hounded day and night.BUT the best best feeling has to be the feeling of having money, and not living in fear and embarassement. We stupidly took a large loan last January, why oh why didn't we go to CAB instead, we would have been 1 year in now, but you can't change the past, just the future, and our future seems right now better. Things are tight, but we live by weekly cash allowance and still manage the odd bottle of wine and treat for the little one (swimming this weekend), oh, and its not on the credit card. Hope everyone has a great bankholiday.

Lovely post.

I often sit and wish I'd got help sooner than I did in respect of my money problems but eh ho we live and learn. Hope it continues to be good for you and I'm sure those creditors will soon leave you alone x

The letters will stop soon, rest assured!

We were always taking out loans, paying cards off and then running them up again.

I once used my credit card to pay the remaining amount for a new car!

Yeah we're 2 month into the iva process and cant fault payplan. We still just have 1 creditor contacting us, but when they look at our file properly they realise they didn't need to contact us!! Hopefully will stop soon. Good luck and hang on in there!!

Hello
I think we must have been accepted for an IVA more or less at the same time...mine was 14th April my first payment is also this month.
It has been a very stressfull time leading up to acceptance but now feel some relieve. My bank who was not one of my creditors has since found out I am in an IVA and has closed my account. I panicked over this as it was impossible to pay my direct debits. I rang a few banks the most helpful after I explained that i had just entered into an IVA was the cooperative bank who have now opened a basic bank account for me with a debit visa card also which now enables me to pay my bills I am so relieved about that
I am still having a few phone calls but I am sure they will all stop soon Barclaycard did ask me well can you just make this months payment untill we recieve all the paperwork from PAYPLAN

Barclays did the same with me, but they were told that I couldn't make any payments now and they shouldn't be asking me to.

The Co-op are a well recommended bank on the forum.
