Hi everyone, not posted for ages but wanted ask a question which is bothering me, we are now 5 weeks into our IVA and shortly will be making our 2nd payment ( hurray). However, Tesco Credit Card are again constantly bombarding me with calls, I spoke to two people today and told them i am 5 weeks post iva approved, they didn't want to listen, claimed to have no knowledge of this, and very aggressively requested a payment. I have also received a letter from Sainsburys asking for two months arrears and a Lloyds Bank sent a statement listing yet more account charges !!!!!!!!!! Argh will this ever end . I think i will contact my case officer, but can anyone else tell me how long it took for things to fall into place for them post iva. Thought all this was behind me.

Been there, done that....
OK, you may not want to hear this but if you have an approved IVA.
1. When you answer the phone and find it is a creditor included in the IVA, either refuse to answer the security questions and/or put the phone down.
2. Letters. Use them as firelighters/as replacements for rizlas or post them to your IP.
It will all stop, don't worry, it may take a little more time to filter down but I assure they will stop.

Hi - it does take a while sometimes for all calls and letters to stop. Just remember, you are protected by your IVA so they are wasting their paper and money.
Send the letters on to your IP xx

I know its quite stressful. We're 12 weeks in and still recieving letters and phonecalls. 2 Companies that are denying all knowledge of the IVA.!!!

Its just a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. It is frustrating, but eventually these companies will ipdate their systems and calls/letters will cease.

I had the same problem with Tesco after I went BR and they told me that they don't recognise BR!
I would send the letters to your IP and ask them to deal with it.
Good luck x

Hi I am also just paid my first payment into my IVA. today I have had 6 phone calls and 1 text message from barclaycard they just do not seem to listen I also dont know how to react to them when they do call all the time. They are the only creditor that seems to be harrassing me...

Like Skippy said send letters to your IP and after you have said you are in an IVA give callers the number of IP and put the phone down.

Not answering the security questions is a good one cause then they can't talk to you under data protection

Gotta Love the sneakiness of it all muahahahahahahah

If it were me, I'm afraid I would not be polite by now, and the second word to them would be 'off'!

I added the BT services to refuse withheld numbers and also the ability to block 10 numbers from contacting you.
Costs £5 a month ish but for me was well worth it. I simple didn't answer the phone , googled them and then added to the block once worked out who they were.
10 numbers I found is enough to do it and peaceful silence since.

The only problem with that is that as soon as they know you have blocked a number, they use a different one.
Great for a while but a pain to keep changing.
It's better to change your number if you can (and cheaper).

Never actually had that problem since the automated systems would simply report back number not available.
When a creditor calls you from a call centre they don't type the number in. The automatic systems pass answered calls to the operators.
I never found a bank changed the number to bypass this to be honest but if your debt has been passed to a DCA then yes I saw that happening but I found the 10 numbers sufficient to control this and for my own reasons didn't want to change the number though I would agree that is simplest way to fix it if BT or if your provider can but when I looked at this you had to give some serious justification for it.
