Just trying to find cheaper ways of buying things, not been on ebay before and they are suggesting a paypal account, are you allowed to have one of these?

Hi - yes you are allowed a paypal account. I have a paypal pre paid card and link this to my ebay account.

Yep, you will have no problems with a paypal account as its your money you are spending and no creditors are involved.
I too have a prepaid paypal card linked to my account.

There's other sites on the web that accept Paypal as well.

I have now set up an account but it says it will take a couple of days to deposit 2 pounds to verify the account then I can go shopping, is this right?

Yes, if I remember rightly they will deposit a couple of small amounts of money into your bank account and you just have to verify this.
I use my Paypal account to fund my spending on Ebay once I have sold things.

thanks Jan, I have just linked it to my Visa card so it worked straight away, only bidding on a new hoover £17.00 but it says that the reserve price hasnt been met, will have to keep an eye on it. just looking at holidays (wishful thinking) cant believe that you can have a villa for a week for £300.00

Don't get carried away and overbid! I've done that before now.
£300 (if you've got it[:D]) is not a bad price for a villa. Don't forget though that you have to get there!

Its amazing what you can buy and sell on ebay these days. We have in the past paid for a hol to majorca from getting the hubby to downsize his music collection. Had some fantastic buys for clothes for the boys too. Right trendy geezers in their designer wear. lol

It takes time to get used to it. What you can do is 'snipe'. Sign up to a site such as Goofbay. You can enter the number of the item you want, put in how much you are happy to pay and set it to a few seconds before the item ends. I've won loads of stuff doing that and it is especially useful if you're going to be out when the item ends.
