Hi,
I am a ACCA qualified accountant working in industry. I am in a Debt Management Plan but looking at going into an IVA.
Do I need to advise ACCA and will this result in me being removed from ACCA?
I am also looing to start my own business in Practice so will need a ACCA practice certificate. Will an IVA mean that I won't be able to get the ACCA Practice Certificate?
Thanks for your help!
Warren

Hi Warren and welcome to the forum
The articles of the ACCA may well require you to notify them if you enter into an IVA, but this will not affect your membership or your ability to practice.
Your ability to obtain a practising certificate will also not be affected - I am currently acting for a number of ACCA members - a couple with their own accountancy practices, and they have encountered few if any problems with their regulatory body.

Hi Warren - if you haven't done so already, best thing you can do is is speak to a couple of companies to get some free advice on whether an IVA would be viable for you. Choose an IP who has experience in your field so you know you are getting sound advice applicable to your circumstances.

Hi Warren,
I am an ACCA member (still studying) and am looking into entering and IVA. As far as i know, only if you are declared bankrupt does it effect your membership
