Hi,

Im due to get married soon so would like to accept cheques from people in both of our names. I am currently in an IVA, my partner is fully aware of this. We do not want to setup a bank account with both of our names as this will effect her credit rating.

From looking about I think the account to go for is a NS&I Investment Account setup in joint names. Does anybody know for certain if this will create a financial association on her credit file?

Also the other question is - im taking anything paid in joint names will have to be declared as a windfall of 50%?

Thanks

Hi Macuser and welcome to the Forum.
I have no idea whether a National Savings account would be a financial link for your partner's credit file. However, while you should speak to your own IP for clarification, I would not expect wedding gifts to be deemed a windfall unless the amounts involved were substantial.

As its a savings account and there is no credit I wouldnt have thought that this could show as a link?
