Sorry didnt know how else to title it.

We were made BR in Nov 08, and Discharged in Aug 09. And havent had credit since, and tbh dont really want it BUT..

Our bed has just collapsed, after years of being on its last legs. Ive been turned down for 2 credit cards that are supposed to be for people with poor credit history. We are not entitled to any crisis/budget loans from the government despite me being on incapacity benefit and my hubby earns a poor wage.

What else can we do? Is somewhere like Brighthouse, or a provident loan the only answer?

Thanks in advance!

Hi flashingblade - do you know anyone who has a catalogue you could order from? Littlewoods are good for people with poor credit and even though the prices are high, I would prefer that to a provident loan.

Have you looked on freecycle? I'm always surprised what gets offered on there..even new beds.

Hi there - Im sorry to hear about that hun.

As Julie says try freecycle its worth a look - even if you just pick up a bed base n use your old mattress for now.
Does you local council have any facilities where they sell second/new unwanted furniture? I know ours does n only sells them to those on such benefits.
We have just had a British Red Heart Furniture Shop open selling second/new goods n their prices are brilliant for quality goods. Is their one any where near you?
N please stay away from those horrendous payday loan people - I would rather get a catalogue.
Hope you get sorted hun x
