just wanted to give a big up to Virgin mobile who obviously value their long term customers. Had a leaflet through Friday offering a free Blackberry on a £10/month tariff- 50 mins, 250 texts and unlimited email and internet access for exisiting customers. I applied halfheartedly on line as a credit check would be made and didnt expect for me to pass as ive been in an IVA for 12 months. Lo and behold i was able to sign up for this fab offer as i am already getting my phone and broadband from them and a brand new Blackberry was delivered to my door at 9.30 on Saturday morning for the same price that i top up my old pay as you go each month. Fair does the tariff isnt massive but its more than enough for my needs and u can pay more if you want to so anyone out there who thinks theyre stuck with old pay as you go phones then give Virgin a try

Excellent! It is probably because you are already with them and your account is up to date.

I've just changed phone and broadband provider to Sky from BT. Much cheaper and, so far, a better service. I'm with O2 for my mobile and have taken out a new contract since being in the IVA with no problem. Hopefully will be able to do the same next year when it's up for renewal.

I'm also on an 02 contract and had no problems when it came to upgrading a couple of months ago.

Contract phones are worth looking into as they can help rebuild credit scores.

Only as my contract become due at the right time, due again next June so hope to upgrade but to be fair I'm more than happy with my phone at the minute but we'll see nearer the time, I don't think I'll be able to say 'no' x

I can't wait to get a new phone. Mine is ok, but I'm fed up with it now - that's the only problem with a 24 month contract!

I managed to find a 12 month contract on Vodafone with a Blackberry. I have been with them for 8 years but thought that there was only 18 or 24 month contracts available. Worth a call to them as for existing customers they have some great deals on 12 month plans. I get unlimited text, 500 mins and internet for £30 a month inc VAT. If you call your provider then they have a lot of "unknown" deals available that are not readily available on the internet or in store. Another great deal they are doing is they give you another sim card for £10 a month (free for first 3 months) that includes 200 texts and 200 mins.

I am on contract with three mobile. I would like to swop but I wouldn't pass the credit check.
The network is not great, but got it pre IVA. Guess I am stuck with it for a couple of years.

Vodafone called me a couple of weeks ago and offered to reduce my tariff which was a bit of a shock! I've now got 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb of internet for £25 a month.

I want to change to an Iphone next year, but I know they'll charge me a lot for it as I'm a low user. If they don't have any deals I might switch to SIM only and save some money!

Good old Vodaphone!

I wouldn't have them (even if I could get them!) as I would have problems with coverage. Daughter is with them and when she is at her fiances house she has no signal at all unless she stands outside.

I have to say I've never had problem's with Vodafone's coverage - even at your house last month it was excellent!

T Mobile are another story - rubbish coverage and rubbish customer service!
