I was just wondering if anyone has received the nationwide cashcard plus card yet?

I think Jan has had hers, but I'm starting to give up hope now!

Ours arrived today and I think Helen had hers at the weekend.

I believe they said that they would be delivered by the end of September.

Mine arrived yesterday.

The only problem I have with it is removal of cash withdawals outside the UK.

However, given the forthcoming charges for all use outside the UK I now have FairFX cards where the charges are lower.

I've never used my debit card to withdraw cash outside the UK. It all used to go on credit cards or be taken in cash.

When American Express did their travellers cheque card we used to use that.

If it doesn't come within a couple of weeks I'd give them a call.

I prefer using a debit card when I'm shopping as I find that if I have £20 in my purse I'll spend it, whereas if I pay by card I only spend the actual amount.

I have my co op electron but only use it for fuel. If we are doing a 'friday big shop' we take out the cash we have to spend so we dont get tempted to oversend!

Funnily enough, I had got used to being without a debit card and mostly stuck to the things on the list. However, if there was anything left at the end of the week I didn't take too much persuading to spend it!

I was the other way round, and card spending was too easy to lose track of.

While in my IVA I found it easier to plan everything weeks (and even months) in advance because I knew how much (or little) cash was available.

My bank account and spending file goes up to December 2021, so I know what is available, and I can easily add in new items.

Another problem I have with card payments is that ticket agencies, travel agents all add extra charges for card payments whereas paying cash has no extra fees.

Having said all of this, I used my new Nationwide card this morning to book tickets for a concert next year.
