HI EVERYONE,
I HAVEN'T BEEN ON THIS SITE FOR SOME TIME, BUT SEVERAL THINGS HAVE HAPPENED RECENTLY AND I WONDERED IF ANY ONE COULD GIVE ME SOME GUIDENCE?
TODAY IS INFACT THE SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF MY IVA AND SO I AM TWO YEARS CLOSER TO BEING DEBT FREE.
MY PARTNER HAS ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM AND I WANT TO SAY YES, BUT HOW WILL THIS AFFECT MY IVA? I AM WITH FREEMAN JONES, WHO HAVE ALWAYS BEEN LOVELY TO ME BY THE WAY,BUT I WILL STILL HAVE THE SAME OUTGOINGS AND THE SAME DISPOSABLE INCOME AS OUR FINANCES WILL BE SEPERATE.
MY PARTNER IS SELF EMPLOYED AND A PHARMACIST (SO IS ON QUITE A REASONABLE INCOME. I WILL BE PAYING FOR HALF OF EVERYTHING AND I DON'T EXPECT HIM TO BE INVOLVED IN MY FINANCES ATALL. INFACT I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT HIS CERDIT RATING MAYBE AFFECTED BY MINE, PLUS I AM NOT SURE HE WOULD BE WILLING TO DIVULGE DETRAILS OF HIS FINANCES TO FREEMAN JONES - AFTER ALL THIS IS MY SITUATION NOT HIS.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE

Hi,

Congratulations! Go ahead and plan your wedding.

Your partners credit rating won't be affected unless you have any joint finances. I think Freeman Jones will want to make sure that you are both paying your fair share to the household finances.

Are you living together at the moment?

Congratulations from me too.
Even though your partner earns more than you they cannot be expected to subsidise your IVA so paying half of the outgoings is perfectly acceptable. If he is asked for his details he can refuse and the IP can then make a 50/50 assumption of the bills.

It should not affect his credit rating.
