..this might be a silly question but....
Do I have to let my IP know that I am will be renewing my car insurance next month,I will be paying monthly so really this is credit...? my IVA states that I must let my IP know if I take out any credit and it shouldnt be over £500,my insurance I reckon will be a bit over that..
and also,do they do credit checks and then refuse to give me car insurance as my credit rate is shot?

or...it isnt really credit as if I dont keep up my payments they will cancel the policy anyway?

By the way,my IVA was only acepted tuesday....

You do not need to inform your IP as almost everyone pays monthly for their car insurance otherwise it is cancelled. I doubt if there would be a credit check for renewing a policy but am unsure if you are trying to switch.

May be worth trying a couple of price comparison sites.

Thank you Michael,I have gone on a few comparison sites and surprise, surprise they are quoting me more than last year...nothing to do with the IVA though!

Our house insurance went up by nearly a third this year because of damage caused by flooding miles away.

We live on top of a hill and not on reclaimed land or lands prone to flooding. It really annoys me that we have to pay extra to insure against flooding when we are as safe as Noah's Ark!!!

We have problems getting house insurance as we are within 500m of the river. We live in a downstairs maisonette and it has flooded - in 1947!

The stupid thing is the girl in the upstairs maisonette also has problems getting insurance as it's done on the postcode, which is stupid - if she's flooded we're in big trouble!

Our insurance only went up because we have made a couple of claims this year.

I pay all my insurances by direct debit.
