Hi,
I am 7 months into an IVA but my husband is doing an DMP at £80 a month as debts in his name werent enough to do IVA - two of husbands creditors are included in my IVA. My question is we want to change DMP companies as he is paying £25/£30 a month in fees to the DMP company which could be included in the DMP instead. We were looking at Payplan as it says there are no fees? Any feedback with them and is it a straight forward process? thank you x

Hi
You can go through Payplan or the CCCS, they do not charge any fees as they are actually funded by the creditors. To be honest, with him paying such a low amount, it would probably be better if he went to a free service. Good Luck

You can choose any company you like, personally I think the ones that charge a fee give you a better service and are more likely to get interest and charges stopped.
If you visit
www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews and give on or two a ring.

If you give a couple more a ring you can ask about fees and how much each charges.

Hi
I,ve dealt with Payplan for 4 yrs on an DMP and since day One my interest has been frozen I get no hassle and find Payplan great, so I see no need whatsoever to pay a fee

My iva is with Payplan and I have no problems so far with them. However, my DMP was with a fee paying company and they were brilliant.
A lot of posters on here do have a problem with having interest frozen if they go with a non fee paying company.
Glad it's working out for you canaries.

Just spoken to Payplan and husband cant go with them as his debt in his name is £5000 and it has to be over £7000. I dont mind paying a fee but £35pm on a payment of £80 is alot to be paying. Anyone know of a organisation with a cheaper fee?

Has your husband thought of negotiating payments with his creditors himself?

Thanks Lesley and Kallis3, was just thinking about negotiating ourselves but sounds abit scary. He has 3 creditors (amounting £5350) Two are included in my IVA - IF and N. Rock the only sole one in his name is Tesco Visa card which is also the highest. I could pay them each £10 amonth more. The fees would be frozen on IF and NR anyway wouldnt they because of my IVA?

You won't be able to make any payments to them at all because of your IVA, it will have to come from your husband. I'm sure they will all be amenable to an arrangement.
I presume the interest is frozen on the total debt but not sure on that one.
