Well 5 payments done on my iva but feeling the pressure big time, I can honestly say this is hardest thing I have ever done, been finding it a bit hard to budget and with Christmas coming up looks like its going to be a quiet one, I guess im just feeling a bit down about everything at the minute and with family not knowing our situation we don’t have anyone else to vent to, also you may all remember me telling you I was expecting, unfortunately we lost the baby so feeling mega down. We will be needing a fill of heating fuel to take us through the winter and we really do not know where we will find the money from to buy it, it is so expensive at the minute, ah well just have to struggle on, no real point to this post just felt like I needed to let off a bit of steam.

So sorry to hear the news about the baby. I can only imagine that with baby on its way and IVA you had a fresh start and everything was feeling good. Have you considered confiding in family re the IVA? After quite a few weeks I confided in a friend who I thought would be horrified but she was the only one I could turn to and was amazed at her reaction.Whilst I had a full and final accepted she knows that money will be tight and has offered assistance if car breaks down or something mega not forseen. It was such a relief. Take care of yourself

What awful bad news Kitty - I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

With regard to the IVA payments, if you are really struggling then you should seek guidance from your IP as to whether the payments can be lowered to a more comforatble level. Your IP may be able to lower the payments by up to 15% without the need to seek creditor agreement, and this could make an awful difference to your everyday budgeting. Has anything in particular happened since the IVA was accepted which has led to the current struggle?

Talking about Christmas. I have to agree with Helen. It is just another day.
A friend of mine has lent me their Nintendo Wii.... it's great fun. I have the dance game and the dance mat. It's so funny. If anything will make you laugh, that will. If you can borrow one, gather family and friends round and try some of the sequences - I guarantee you'll be in tears (the happy ones).

We don't treat Christmas that much differently. I usually work Boxing Day as well so it's a short break for me.

I have made my own Xmas presents this year, my sister, mum & dad and best friends all getting a small bottle of Garlic & Rosemary Olive Oil (garlic & rosemary out of my garden & ALDI Olive Oil @ 1.49 for a litre bargain) plus I have made Chilli Oil too(dried flakes cheap in the supermarket 0.99p),and lazy garlic (just wizz up loads of garlic and add a few tablespoons of oil) I have have only had to outlay for 2 litres of Olive Oil and I found a supplier of Olive Oil Bottles cheap online, bought a 6 pack for £5.49, and cleaned out my jam jars for the lazy garlic. Great fun too. I spent a lovely afternoon with my daughter who designed the labels. Hope these ideas help.
PS- I lost a baby late into pregancy too, she would have been 6 today, but heaven is blessed with an angel.xx

Commencing and keeping to an IVA now are fraught with challenges ...keep with it. As Cameron says for the country....light at the end of the tunnel.....long way off.

The creditors have settled with you on an arrangement you had agreed to....you have to honour your part.That's life in an IVA. Many have gone through this and made better for it.

Seek them for inspiration.[:o)]

Kitty, I am so sorry to read you lost your baby, you too indebtscared - a terrible loss. That aside from any money worries is hard enough in itself.

As for your IVA, as Melanie suggests ,speak to your IP about looking at a reduction. Also, was there provision made in your budget for heating fuel costs? There should have been so you could budget, if you haven't had chance to build up a fund for it yet maybe speak to the supplier to see if they do a monthly payment plan to cover the fuel bill over the year, like other utilities.
