Which iva firm are you with? It is unusual to attend court as usually the terms of your proposal would be agreed at the creditors meeting. Did they give any reason why your case needed to go to court?

Hi Kathleen and welcome.

You do need to give us as many details as you can before anyone can advise

The terms of an IVA can only be agreed at a creditors meeting!

Hi Kathleen, I noticed on another post that you refer to the receiver selling your house. Are you absolutely sure you are in an iva and haven't been made bankrupt? In an iva we are looked after by an insolvency practitioner whereas someone in br would be looked after by an official receiver. Br would also make sense of going to court and being asked to sell you property for the benefit of the creditors. The cost is also comparable to the £600 it costs to petition for br, in contrast an iva costs thousands and is paid over the full term of the iva.

Kathleen

You shouldn't really use your name on a forum. On one of your other posts you also included a surname. I had a quick look at the insolvency register and on the 8th November 2010 someone with that name was made bankrupt. With everything else that you are saying this sounds like what has happened.

Don't know if the moderators can edit the previous posts to get rid of that info.

I think you should probably take your paperwork to someone at the citizens advice bureau and they will tell you what is happening.

Either way don't panic and keep contacting the forum and we can try to help you through.

Kathleen, I have removed your name from your signature so that you cannot be readily identified.

However, if you wish your name to be on here then you can do so if you wish.

You could speak to the Official Receiver if you are bankrupt and ask them to explain things to you or you can normally get a free consultation with a solicitor and they may be able to help.

Hi Kathleen, sounds like you're in a bit of turmoil at the moment, why not offer some more information as requested to the forum so that the experts can help advise you. Alternatively, take your paperwork to the CAB and hopefully they'll be able to help if you're not comfortable posting on the forum.

I'm sure we as a forum can hopefully put your mind at rest. Hope you're ok Kathleen.
