Hi - I'm sorry to hear about your job. You need to speak to your ip for specific advice but it is fairly common for ips to allow you to keep living expenses for up to six months and hand over the rest. While you keep living expenses you continue to pay into the iva. Good luck with job hunting...it's not so bad.

Sorry to hear about your job.
You would probably be able to retain up to 6 months salary from your redundancy pay while you find further employment.
I hope you find something soon.

I am also sorry to hear your bad news - I don't think a day goes by without a client of mine ringing up to say they are under threat of redundancy sadly. Your 20 year work record should stand you in very good stead to get a new job - as you are clearly loyal and hardworking. Very best of luck - and try and see this as an opportunity for a new start.

Hi Susey, I am so sorry to hear you are facing redundancy. Searching for new employment can be daunting, but you will have gained many, many skills over the past 20years.
Ask your employer for career/interview advice and if you need any helo with creating/updating your CV, let me know.
Good luck xx

I was made redundant just over 6 months ago, I made the decision of offering a full and final settlement with half my redundancy and it was accepted. While at the same time I took a lower paid job to pay the bills, to be honest Im no worse off financially now im not paying £400 a month into an IVA and now have no debts or stress. Life is on the up.
Good luck for the future.

Once they are in the IVA then they are bound by it and whatever the money was at the time you went into the IVA.

Hi Susey, your creditors need to evidence their claims so ask your IP to take another look at when that extra money was added to the account. All my claims went up as the creditors must've crammed in loads of interest and charges in the month between drafting the proposal and the meeting. That does seem high though.
