F&F Advice - Timing and reason
My iva is due to finish in June 2012.
I currently pay £69.70 per week (£304 month).
My sister has been living in OZ for two years and I would really like to take the opportunity to join her and work over there for a few years.
A friend of mine has kindly offered to clear the iva and we are wondering if a) the reason for the F&F would be acceptable, and also whether approx £3600.00 offered in March 2011 (when 15 months are left) would be agreeable? I realise that payments would continue whilst the F&F was considered, would this be about 3 months?
Obviously I cannot go to OZ whilst still in an IVA, my sister will not be there permanently and it is a wonderful opportunity.
I am also confused about why you have a final review before completion of IVA, what does this cover and why is it needed?
Your help would be most appreciated.
Thank you

Hi Dawn, I think the final review is to ensure all is present and correct before concluding the IVA. I would certainly talk with your IP about the reason for the F&F offer and then see how they feel about the amount. All the best with your venture and I hope it goes well for you. x

Hi there - it definitely sounds in the right ballpark. Have a great time in Australia!

I think you can go to Australia whilst in an IVA, I know Mel has several clients who have relocated.

Hope you can get a full and final sorted though.

It is perhaps a little on the low side - but as you are so close to finalising the IVA it may be worth a try - alternatively you could easily keep up your payments from Australia if you manage to find employment quickly. Salaries in some professions over there can be twice the level they are in the UK.
