Hi
I think many people find the first few months quite difficult so it is good to read that you are coping well.
At least now you don't have to deal with creditor calls and letters
Regards

That is great news Holly. It sounds as though your IVA is really helping you. There are situations where people really feel that it is a struggle to maintain their monthly payments but it sounds as though you have agreed a sensible expenditure budget which you are able to stick to which is great news. Exactly as an IVA should be.

hiya holly-we are at the same stage as you are-the first few months were difficult adjusting(no plastic fantastic to fall back on)it is good that you have settled well in to your iva-to all the newbies just starting out-be strong, have faith in the companies representing you and there will be a light at the end of the tunnel!!

We are at the same stage too [:)] I think we have managed really well in the last few months because a lot of pressure has been lifted. Before the IVA we were struggling on a really low budget for food and absolutely no luxuries. Now we can buy a little extra food, and if we are sensible, still have a few pounds left at the end of the month for a night out.

I worry that things will get tougher with the cost of living generally rising, but I trust my IVA company to keep our I&E managable.

Why not put the little extra left each week into a money tin and save for a couple of nights away -lookout for the Travel Lodge offers of £19 a night - or use the money to save for Christmas presents which we are not budgeted for - it all adds up and can be really rewarding !

That spare money can be really precious can't it - it is what you feel is worth getting up in the morning and working for. The budgeting skills that you learn whilst in an IVA will probably stay with you for life - and as you are now one tenth into your IVA you can start ticking off the months. Well done and thank you for posting such a positive story.
