About to apply for a employed job. Currently self employed. Have finished IVA in summer of last year so its all complete. My main question is there a difference between a credit search for a job and one for lending. If so what type of things does a job credit search show, can anybody shed some light, Thank-you

Hi - it's the same search so will show the previous six years financial history and your personal details such as adresses etc...

Hi, congratulations on finishing your IVA.
I imagine they are both the same as they will access the same records but I could be wrong so hopefully one of the experts will be along later to advise.
It might be an idea to be upfront and tell them about the IVA, especially as you have finished it.

Hi drewmicky
Why is your potential employer wanting to do a credit search on you? Are you looking to go into a specialist financial role? Ultimately a credit search is a credit search. There is no difference based on the reason for the search. If a potential employer carries out such a search on you then your credit history including defaults will be made know to them and they will become aware that you were in an IVA given the search is done within six years of the IVA starting.
